Formally the Director of Asset and Sustainability at Gentoo, Marc Edwards will take up the new role on 1 September 2024. The new role combines the current Property Investment, Maintenance, and Sustainability functions as one team and will create a customer focused property organisation delivering best in class services to our customers. As a member of Gentoo’s Executive Team, Marc will also play a key role in delivering the Group’s Corporate Strategy.
Marc has 15 years of experience working in property roles within the social housing sector, including nearly six years with Gentoo.
For the past 4.5 years, Marc has led the strategic asset investment at Gentoo, delivering multi million-pound investment programmes including energy improvement schemes which have taken 75% of Gentoo’s customers' homes to EPC C and the modernisation and investment in several of Gentoo’s high-rise buildings. Marc had responsibility for property maintenance in previous organisations and he brings strong commercial skills to the role as well as a passion to make a difference to the lives of our customers and help the communities of Sunderland thrive.
Speaking of the announcement, Marc said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Executive Director of Property at Gentoo, leading all our Property and Asset services.
