At Gentoo, we care about people, that’s why we’ve committed to prioritising the development of internal talent.
Earlier this month, Evan and Elle were both successfully promoted for the second time since starting their careers with the Group as apprentices back in 2019.
Evan has secured the role of an Assistant Building Surveyor and will go on to complete a Chartered Building Surveying degree which will see him become a Chartered Building Surveyor once qualified.
Speaking of the promotion, Evan said: “When I heard I was successful in securing the role of Assistant Building Surveyor I was so happy, after a lot of hard work over the last couple of years.
“I am very grateful for the opportunities I have been given by the group, helping create a successful career path for myself. I look forward to what the future holds, gaining more experience and qualifications along the way.”
Elle has secured the role of a Project Building Surveyor and is self-funding a master’s in Construction Project Management with BIM.
Since founded in 2001, the Group has created more than 300 apprenticeships, many of whom have gone on to secure permanent roles with the Group.
Speaking of the promotion Elle said: “After four years of training and further education, finding out I had been successful in obtaining the post of Project Surveyor, I was immensely excited and happy.
“I am extremely grateful to the Asset team and the Group for their investment and support within my educational and professional development.
“I am excited to begin my new role and to see how my professional career with the group develops.”
Marc Edwards, Director of Asset and Sustainability at Gentoo said: “These promotions are testament to all the hard work, dedication and commitment both Evan and Elle have shown since starting their career at Gentoo four years ago.
“Apprenticeships open doors for people of all age, at any stage of their career. They are a great opportunity to earn and learn on the job.
“I’m looking forward to watching them to continue to grow and develop their skills, here at Gentoo.”
