Within this role you will play a vital part in keep our neighbourhoods and communal areas clean and tidy for our customers to enjoy. With the vast amount of open space and the importance of attracting new customers to our homes your role will be helping make these areas attractive to all. You will be required to work with minimum supervision both independently and as part of a wider team. You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and highly experienced team, where you will be offered training opportunities, sharing best practice, and technical talks. We are currently recruiting for a General Maintenance Employee (GME) to join the growing Electrical team; it is essential you hold a full UK drivers’ licence to be considered for this position. The role will require you to carry out routine inspections and checks on essential safety systems and associated ancillary equipment, keeping Gentoo Group compliant for fire and electrical safety. Weekly functional fire alarm testing ensuring the system sounds, operates and signals correctly. Functional testing of communal automatic opening doors and automatic opening vents / smoke control systems, ensuring they operate correctly. Ensure all procedures are followed and any defects or maintenance works identified are reported promptly. Utilise effective information recording systems and complete relevant paperwork in an appropriate manner to the requirements of Gentoo Group to ensure legislative, statutory and organisational timescales and KPI’s are met. Ensure a positive and inclusive attitude to internal, external customers and stakeholders, whilst always providing a high-quality customer focused service.
Lead SQL Database Administrator

We are currently recruiting for a Lead SQL Database Administrator to join the Technology team, based at our head office in Doxford Park, Sunderland. The role is offered on a hybrid working basis; a blend of office and home working, therefore you must be able to commute to our Sunderland offices daily if required. Reporting to the Solutions Development Manager, the Lead SQL Database Administrator will work alongside business intelligence, database and systems developers. This role requires expertise in database management systems (design, implementation, maintenance, and performance optimisation), data modelling, and awareness of integration technologies to ensure the seamless flow of data across disparate systems. Data Modelling Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse data requirements and design logical and physical data models. High Availability and Disaster Recover Configure and maintain high availability solutions such as SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups, database mirroring, and clustering to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity. Develop and test database backup and recovery procedures to recover data in the event of system failures, disasters, or data corruption. Performance Optimisation Identify and address performance bottlenecks, query optimisation opportunities, and scalability challenges in database systems and integration processes. Monitor system performance metrics and fine-tune configurations for optimal throughput and responsiveness.
Project Assistant

The safety and support team is made up of a number of support services including safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, identification of support for customers who are already living in our homes, providing homes for customers with complex needs along with wider services such as victim support services and positive engagement provision. The Safety and Support team are responsible for Safeguarding and support of our vulnerable customers, working in close partnership with other agencies to provide this service. As a Project Assistant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the safety and support agenda, providing an efficient and effective administrative service within Gentoo. Repairs & Maintenance Manager

We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Repairs Team within our Property Maintenance Service in the role of Repairs Manager. In this key role you will lead a team of trades colleagues to effectively deliver a varied range of repairs to meet the needs of our tenants. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of a wider Management team in the successful delivery of repairs across our housing stock with a budget in excess on £10M to invest in Responsive Repairs. As a good communicator you will have the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of teams and colleagues within Gentoo, external contractors, stakeholders and our materials supply partner, Jewson and have an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
