Administration Assistant

We are currently recruiting an experienced Administration Assistant to join the Property Asset Management Department on a part time basis. The team are based at our Doxford Park, Sunderland Head Office. The role is to work 24 hours per week within our core hours of 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am – 12.30 pm Friday. In this role you will provide efficient, effective and comprehensive administration support to the Asset Department and colleagues. A customer focus is required to book appointments by phone, organise meetings, take minutes, input data and manage client and customer enquiries. Administration duties to support the department as required including arrangement of meetings, raising orders, recording and inputting data, post, archiving, filing and updating/retrieval of records and maintaining department stationary requirements as necessary

IT & Digital Skills Learning Lead

Through the development of a Digital Learning Academy, the role will be instrumental in driving up standards of digital competency within the organisation, enabling colleagues to utilise IT systems and equipment to their full potential to improve both colleague and customer experience. The role will design, deliver and evaluate learning programmes to support new system implementations, enhancements to existing systems and to cover the full scope of core systems used by colleagues. The role is offered on hybrid working basis with the ability for a proportion of home working. Due to the nature of this role however we are looking for candidates who are able to commute to our premises in Sunderland on a daily basis when required. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Property team in the role of Multi Maintenance Operative working within a team of Repairs operatives. Working to deliver the best quality customer service whilst carrying out responsive and planned repairs to our tenant properties. The role will involve carrying out building Fire Door maintenance duties including Inspections, joinery work, hardware changes and general maintenance and upkeep. Carrying out general building maintenance duties including joinery, plastering, tiling, decorating, bricklaying, plumbing, fencing, flooring and roofing. The role may also include, tending to our customers fencing requirements, fitting vinyl flooring to wet shower rooms and kitchens, applying damp proofing products to walls, and the installation of loft insulation. You will have access to a company vehicle and the relevant tools and equipment required to carry out your role, working in both void and tenanted properties across our housing stock. Neighbourhood Co-ordinator

We have a great opportunity for a full time Neighbourhood Coordinator (36 hours) to join our Housing Management team on a fixed term basis for 7 months. Our Neighbourhood Coordinators are at the heart of what we do at Gentoo, they are responsible for delivering a first-class housing management service, engaging with households and communities to have a positive impact on the lives of our customers. We are looking for an individual who will take a hands-on approach, helping customers manage their tenancies and improving neighbourhoods for everyone. As a Neighbourhood Coordinator, you will be out and about in your patch, working closely with customers to promote sustainable tenancies, and developing strong relationships with local communities. You will be allocated an area to manage within the City of Sunderland, therefore you will need to be flexible and able to meet the travel requirements of the role, ideally, you will hold a UK driver’s licence with access to a vehicle, with business mileage reimbursed. Quantity Surveyor

We currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join Gentoo’s Asset Property Investment team. It is a great time to join us as we continue with our ambitious and exciting 5-year investment plan, delivering over £ 200m worth of planned improvements to our customer's homes. The Asset Management delivery team are based from our Doxford Park, Sunderland head office. Led by the Contracts Manager the team includes a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Asset Delivery Co-ordinator, Project Managers, Project Surveyors and Client customer liaison officers. This role will report to our Senior Quantity Surveyor. In the role of Quantity Surveyor, you will play a leading role and be responsible for the financial management, coordination and reporting of a number of the Group’s planned investment schemes annually. Ensuring the Group delivers the investment plan (circa £ 42m pa) and achieves value for money while meeting KPIs. You will be responsible for the management of all commercial matters in connection with the delivery of Gentoo Group's planned investment programme and will lead on the effective commercial and financial management of Gentoo’s planned, compliance and sustainability related investment programmes, to which you are allocated. This will include the provision of accurate and timely pre-contract documentation with the Asset Planning and Strategy team, tender valuations, accurate budget forecasting, post-quantity surveying duties, managing the purchase order process and ensuring the payment of contractors on time. This will include implementing and administering the most appropriate forms of contract for project values and work types to offer Gentoo the most advantageous contract term. This role will be responsible for the overall management of all commercial matters in connection with the delivery of Gentoo Group's planned investment programme and will lead the effective commercial and financial management of Gentoo’s planned, compliance and sustainability-related investment programmes. This will include the provision of accurate and timely pre-contract documentation with the Asset Planning and Strategy team, tender valuations, accurate budget forecasting, post-quantity surveying duties, managing the purchase order process and ensuring the payment of contractors on time.
