We are currently recruiting an Assistant Contracts Manager (M&E) to join the Mechanical and Electrical team. In this role, you will assist the Repairs & Maintenance Contracts Managers (Mechanical & Electrical) to provide, plan and coordinate external suppliers to manage Gentoo’s statutory, regulatory and compliance responsibilities. You will also support the Contracts Managers to ensure all relevant servicing, repairs, testing and remedial work is tracked and completed and certification validated and updated. Supporting and undertaking (in collaboration) quality assurance/quality control checks to a defined percentage of suppliers' work to provide robust site management together with technical advice is a key element of this role. You will support the performance of Gentoo’s suppliers in delivering specialist works in a safe and compliant manner, delivering value for money, health and safety excellence while ensuring programmes are delivered to the required time, cost and quality standards. Undertake as required, on site assessments of Contractors Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes and the checking of the competency of qualifications of their staff. Collaborate with colleagues in Gentoo to deliver the organisations requirements in relation to Mechanical & Electrical services ensuring that all undertakings in relation to servicing, testing and inspection are delivered effectively. Where required, review contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements, including managing relevant Permits to Work to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements. Act as Duty Manager as part of the Group’s emergency out of hours service (EOHS). Ensure all services provided are delivered in line with the Group’s cultural values.

We are currently recruiting an Assistant Repairs and Maintenance Manager (Electrical Services) to join the Electrical team. The role will require you to assist the R&M Manager (Electrical Services) to provide, plan and co-ordinate in-house staff and external contractors for the effective and comprehensive management of Gentoo’s statutory, Regulatory and Compliance responsibilities in relation to designated areas of the testing and maintenance of a range of electrical services’ installations and equipment including cyclical, responsive and planned programmes to domestic and non-domestic properties. Support the R&M Manager (Electrical Services) to ensure that all relevant servicing, repairs, testing and inspection is carried out, that all follow on/remedial work is tracked, completed and recorded with the appropriate certification validated and updated and transmitted to the data team in a timely manner so that all information is current and accurate. Supporting and undertaking (with others) quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) checks to a defined percentage of ongoing/completed works of contractors’/in-house staff for robust management together with technical advice in line with best practice. Support the performance of Gentoo's Contractors and in-house staff delivering works by the effective management of Assistant Managers, trades staff and colleagues and sub-contractors to deliver value for money, health and safety excellence whilst ensuring programmes are delivered to the required time, cost and quality standards. Assisting in ensuring that Gentoo’s Compliance statutory obligations and regulatory undertakings are delivered with regards Landlord Compliance for, but not limited to: • Electrical Safety including cyclical domestic testing, repairs works, lightning conductors; • Electrical services to Mechanical systems including communal heating systems and distribution, ventilation. Pumps etc. • Fire Safety Systems including fire alarms, emergency & communal lighting, sprinkler and dry riser systems and fire extinguishers 2. Assisting with effectively managing staff and sub-contractors to maximise productivity, performance and quality ensuring a Value for Money service is delivered. 3. Supporting in ensuring that all relevant service, testing and inspection processes are carried out correctly, remedial/follow on works are undertaken on a risk basis, that the service, testing and inspection process is fit for purpose, and the certification is appropriately recorded, and that data is validated and current 4. Carry out quality assessments and quality control inspections of electrical servicing, testing and installation work to ensure that the work undertaken is to the correct standard and that Gentoo Property Services and external contractors are competent to carrying out of their work 5. Ensure documentation and certification meets the requirements of registration bodies e.g. N.I.C.E.I.C. & NAPIT etc. 6. Act as a Qualified Supervisor in line with certification body requirements

The safety and support team is made up of a number of support services including safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, identification of support for customers who are already living in our homes, providing homes for customers with complex needs along with wider services such as victim support services and positive engagement provision. The Safety and Support team are responsible for Safeguarding and support of our vulnerable customers, working in close partnership with other agencies to provide this service. As a Project Assistant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the safety and support agenda, providing an efficient and effective administrative service within Gentoo. We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Repairs Team within our Property Maintenance Service in the role of Repairs Manager. In this key role you will lead a team of trades colleagues to effectively deliver a varied range of repairs to meet the needs of our tenants. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of a wider Management team in the successful delivery of repairs across our housing stock with a budget in excess on £10M to invest in Responsive Repairs. As a good communicator you will have the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of teams and colleagues within Gentoo, external contractors, stakeholders and our materials supply partner, Jewson and have an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
